YW Medallion

Today I got my YW medallion during sacrament meeting.  That means I'm all done with Personal Progress; I finished EVERYTHING!  That is so crazy to me.  It seems like just yesterday I was an annoying 12 year old Beehive just starting the YW program.  Personal Progress has changed and shaped me so much as a person.  I have learned so much from it and I'm so grateful for the amazing leaders that have helped me out during this 4 year process.  Now that I'm finished I can get an Honor Bee!  I'm so thankful for this gospel and everything Personal Progress has taught me! (Don't worry I'll still be posting although I'm done with Personal Progress for now :)

The Temple

Yesterday I had the wonderful experience of getting to go to the temple with two of my good friends.  I have been to the temple quite a few times before, and I always have a new, cool experience every time I go there.  I didn't have to go to school until 12:00 yesterday (perks of being a Junior, I guess) and so me and my two other friends decided to go to the Mount Timpanogos temple.  There was almost nobody there, except for a few other Juniors from my school, and it was so calm and peaceful and I was able to release all of my stresses and tensions while I was there and just relax and feel the Spirit.  I'm so glad to have a temple so close to my home and I know that the temple truly is the Lord's Home.

Seminary

I'm grateful for seminary.  For those of you who don't know what seminary is, here's an explanation.  Seminary is a class period Mormon students take as a part of school here in Utah, but in other places without seminary buildings as a part of the school, they take this class somewhere early in the morning.  In seminary we learn more about the Gospel and learn about the different parts of the scriptures every year.  This year we are learning about the Book of Mormon, which I am loving.  I've learned so much about Nephi and his family (we're only in 2 Nephi) and I'm starting to gain a greater testimony about this great book that Joseph Smith translated for us in the Latter Days.

The Prophet

I'm just going to take a minute to talk about our dear, sweet Prophet.  His talk in this morning's session truly touched me.  I loved his sweet words on his dear wife's passing and I love how confident and happy is to know that he will see his love again soon in Heaven.  I truly believe that Thomas.
S. Monson is our living prophet and that all of his words and teachings come directly from our Heavenly Father.

Conference Weekend

Oh how I love conference weekend. Laying around in my pajamas, eating a yummy breakfast, and all while watching our wonderful Prophet and Apostles address and speak to us.. It's honestly the best.  My personal favorite speakers are usually, Elder Uchtdorf and Elder Holland.  And they both gave great talks today.  I especially liked when Elder Uchtdorf said, "Doubt your doubt, not your faith." I mean how profound and beautiful is that, doubt your doubts not in what you already know and believe.  I'm so glad to be a part of this wonderful church and to be able to hear the leaders of the church speak to all of us from the Lord.  I'm excited to hear some more great talks, and I hope that while you watch you will have some question you have answered through the leaders talks and tesimonies! I know I did in Elder Uchtdorf's talk and Elder Holland's talk especially this morning.  I really felt like they were speaking to me personally, and it helped me answer the prayers I have been having in my life.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

So many of you who aren't actually members of this wonderful church are probably wondering what I'm talking about.  Well there's a lot to know about the LDS church, first off it's the most amazing thing that will ever happen to you, honestly.  Secondly you may have heard some myth's about the LDS church that aren't exactly true or up to date.  We don't practice polygamy anymore, that's the FLDS church and we aren' secretly sporting horns under our hair. (I can send you pictures of my head if you'd like :)  If you are interested in learning more about the LDS church feel free to email me dollypig@gmail.com, or go to this website www.mormon.org  Once you find out and learn more about this church you will be so amazed at what you have been missing out on.  I'm just going to share a short testimony about this religion, I know that this church is true and I truly know that because I have prayed about it and have a received answers and blessings because of it, I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that he truly restored the gospel and the Book of Mormon, I know for a fact that the Book of Mormon is the most wonderful and true book out there, it's so amazing and when you read it for yourself and pray about it you will receive an answer, it may not be right away or the way you want it, but it will come.  I know that this is the only true church and I'm so grateful for it, and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
If you are interested at all in the LDS church, feel free to ask any questions and get a copy of the Book of Mormon for yourself, I will honestly send you a copy if you need(just let me know:), you could also find the Mormon missionaries in your area if you'd like too.  Thanks for reading! I love this church.!

Me, Myself, and I

Hey guys, since I'm just starting up this blog I'm just going to introduce myself.  My name is McKenna Payne, but I go by Kenna most of the time :) I'm 16 years old and enjoying being able to drive, date, and being a Laurel in my YW group in the Cedar Hills Stake in Utah.  I have 2 siblings, Nico and JJ who are 12 and 5.  I love them dearly, although at times they can be a bit obnoxious... I also have a mom and a dad who are wonderful, my mom is a stay at home mom, and my dad is a software engineer.  I enjoy playing rugby, dancing, singing, doing Crossfit, and going to mutual every Tuesday, OF COURSE! That's just about everything you need to know about me!
